How to Compare Fall Porch Services
Before the roundup, the four questions that actually matter when you're comparing:
What's included at the price you see: Some services bundle design, delivery, styling, and removal into one number. Some list a low delivery price and add setup as a $75 line item. The headline is not always the honest total.
What kind of pumpkins they source: A hand-selected Cinderella heirloom from a Virginia farm looks nothing like a grocery-store carving pumpkin. Sourcing is 60% of what you're paying for and it's rarely explained on landing pages.
Whether they actually serve your ZIP: Several DMV services are technically "DC / MD / VA" but are based in Maryland and charge Northern Virginia extra for delivery. Others cover only two or three specific NoVA towns.
Whether you're paying for a delivery or for a design: Some services are pumpkin-delivery-first with an optional styling add-on. Others are design-first with pumpkins as the medium. Both are legitimate. They're just different products.

Materials are always real: heirloom pumpkins, specialty gourds, mums, and hay bales, hand-selected from Virginia farms. Sourcing includes varieties like Cinderella, Fairytale, Jarrahdale, Knucklehead, and Ghost — the kinds of pumpkins that photograph like Vermeer paintings up close.
What sets us apart: We're the only fall porch service in the DMV that has been featured on ABC7's Good Morning Washington, and we've been covered by Northern Virginia Magazine, Arlington Magazine, and Patch's Ashburn and Arlington editions. Fall 2024 and 2025 both sold out. Fall 2026 booking opens Monday, August 10, and our waitlist gets first access.

Where we're honest about our tradeoffs: On our lower tier, styling and removal are add-ons rather than bundled. Some competitors bundle them into a single price. If you want an all-in flat rate at the entry level, our "I Gotta Have It" package includes design, delivery, styling, and end-of-season removal — or a competitor lower on this list may be a better fit for you.
Harvest Haulers (Silver Spring, MD — serves DMV)
Best for: Homeowners on the Maryland side of the DMV (Bethesda, Potomac, Chevy Chase, Silver Spring) who want a lower entry price with clear per-package pumpkin counts.
Harvest Haulers is a well-run, family-operated pumpkin delivery service based in Silver Spring, MD. Their four numbered packages run from $399 to $1,350, and they clearly quantify each tier by pumpkin count (50+, 60+, 70+). Their Instagram is active, they run promotions and reels, and they work with wineries, breweries, restaurants, realtors, and interior designers.
Where they're strong: Price transparency, pumpkin counts published up front, real-farm sourcing, custom brand-color displays (all-white, all-pink, brand-matched), and coverage of the northern Maryland suburbs.
Where the honest tradeoff sits: Design and setup are not always included at the entry tier — professional design is a $75 add-on on their lower packages. Their city list leads with Maryland (Chevy Chase, Bethesda, Kensington, Potomac, Rockville, Silver Spring) and reaches into Northern Virginia (McLean, Great Falls, Arlington, Falls Church, Vienna). If you're in Loudoun, Prince William, or western Fairfax, you may be at the edge of their delivery zone.
Pumpkin City Porches (DC / MoCo / NoVA)
Best for: Households in DC and Montgomery County who want a range of price points from a drop-off DIY tier all the way up to a mid-luxury package.
Pumpkin City Porches has one of the broadest price ranges in the DMV, from a $325 Drop-Off (they leave the pumpkins, you style them) up to a $1,375 Grand package. Their tiers are clearly laid out with named packages and add-ons like Grand Prize Pumpkin ($195) and Corn Stalks ($30) available à la carte.
Where they're strong: Widest range of entry price points in the DMV — the only major competitor offering a formal drop-off DIY tier at a published price. Good option if you enjoy styling your own porch but don't want to source the pumpkins.
Where the honest tradeoff sits: DC and Northern Virginia deliveries carry a surcharge and require a delivery add-on at checkout. Their base market is Washington DC and Montgomery County, MD. If you're in NoVA and looking at a comparison of like-for-like styled porches, factor in that surcharge.
The Porch Theory (Northern Virginia)
Best for: Homeowners who want a boutique, personalized luxury porch design and don't mind paying at the higher end of the market.
The Porch Theory is a woman-owned NoVA fall porch service with a clearly premium positioning. Their three tiers — Little Pumpkin ($499), Sweater Weather ($649), Harvest Royalty ($1,599) — sit at the top of the published DMV price band. They also offer à-la-carte mums at $35 each.
Where they're strong: Beautifully named packages, clear luxury positioning, personalized designs described as reflecting the client's taste, and a strong "high-end accents" aesthetic. Their Harvest Royalty tier at $1,599 is the highest published single-install price in NoVA.
Where the honest tradeoff sits: The Porch Theory doesn't publish city or county-level service areas ("Located in Northern Virginia"), so you'll need to inquire to confirm they cover your ZIP. No published press features.
The Porch Fairy / Pumpkin Porch Fairy (Virginia / DC)
Best for: Households who want a design-forward premium experience and are comfortable with quote-based pricing.
The Porch Fairy positions itself as a luxury fall porch design service with white-glove delivery, setup, and cleanup. They're partnered with The Capital Flower Fairy — a luxury floral installation studio — which gives them a design-heavy pedigree. They sold out in 2024 and publish satisfaction stats (87% "star of the neighborhood," 97% stress-free, 93% would rebook).
Where they're strong: Design partnership with a luxury floral team, published customer satisfaction data, three tiered packages including a Premium Grand Gourd top tier, and full-service white-glove positioning.
Where the honest tradeoff sits: Quote-only pricing (no numbers published on the site) and no published city or county-level service area, so you'll need to inquire before knowing if you're in-range or what to expect to pay.
The Front Porch Lady (Herndon, Sterling, Waterford)
Best for: Homeowners in Herndon, Sterling, or Waterford who want a year-round decor relationship — spring through winter — and don't mind faux materials outside of fall.
The Front Porch Lady offers a four-season porch decorating program. Their fall packages ($299 Door Edit, $695 Signature, $999 Showstopper) include install and cleanup at every tier. Their signature move is a hand-designed rendering of your actual porch within one business day of your inquiry, with one revision included — a genuinely useful preview mechanic.
Where they're strong: A design preview before you commit, install and cleanup included at every tier (so the headline price is the honest total), a single named stylist (Carly) for consistency, and a four-season model that saves the "who am I hiring in December" question.
Where the honest tradeoff sits: Their fall program uses real heirloom pumpkins, but every other season is "premium faux because it genuinely looks better, longer." If you want real materials all year, or if you're outside their three-town footprint (Herndon, Waterford, Sterling), this isn't your fit.
Seasonal Stylings (MD / NoVA)
Best for: Households in Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, or Alexandria who want quote-based pricing and are willing to wait a few extra days for booking to open.
Seasonal Stylings is a sister-owned concierge porch service covering Montgomery County MD, Howard County MD, Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, and Alexandria. Their four service tiers (Simple, Signature, Signature Luxe, Custom Corporate) are quote-based. Bookings open August 15, and installs start September 22.
Where they're strong: Broad NoVA coverage, a defined corporate program (shops, salons, cafés, country clubs, boutique hotels, grand openings), and contactless installation.
Where the honest tradeoff sits: No published prices, so it's harder to compare like-for-like without an inquiry. Bookings open five days after The Posh Porch (August 15 vs. August 10), so if you want a booking window that starts earlier in the season, that's a scheduling factor.
Wonder & Whimsy Studio (MD / DE / DC)
Best for: Households who want a full-year, one-vendor decor relationship and are prepared to invest in a premium annual retainer.
Wonder & Whimsy is a magazine-worthy studio serving Maryland, Delaware, and DC. Their signature offering is a $7,500 annual Four-Season Package: one styled install per quarter, all delivery / setup / takedown included, priority booking, with fall as "our most in-demand season — book early."
Where they're strong: Premium four-season retainer, dedicated client experience, tailored to home colors and architecture, Christmas tree styling add-on, magazine-quality aesthetic.
Where the honest tradeoff sits: They don't currently claim Northern Virginia as a service area — their footprint is MD/DE/DC-weighted. The $7,500 annual price is the highest published in this scan and is a significant commitment vs. a single fall install.
Porch Patch (Charlottesville / Richmond / DC suburbs)
Best for: Households who want the flexibility of a multi-market Virginia service and are open to quote-based pricing.
Porch Patch is a Virginia service covering Charlottesville, Richmond, and, per their site's meta description, "the Washington DC suburbs." They offer four tiers (Petite, Classic, Grand, Deluxe) with a fall waitlist, on a quote-only basis.
Where they're strong: Multi-market Virginia presence, concierge positioning, and a fall waitlist for early access.
Where the honest tradeoff sits: Their primary markets are Charlottesville and Richmond. NoVA is a stated service area but they don't publish city-level NoVA pages, so you may want to confirm delivery coverage and pricing on inquiry.
The Adjacent Options (Landscape and Holiday Firms)
A few DMV firms are worth knowing about even though they aren't pumpkin-first:
Lucas & Clark Grounds Company covers Great Falls, McLean, Vienna, North Arlington, and Leesburg with Thanksgiving and Christmas decor plus year-round seasonal container plantings — no fall pumpkin program today, but they're a legitimate holiday-decor option if you already use them for grounds.
Merrifield Garden Center (Falls Church, Fairfax, Gainesville) offers custom potting arrangements and full retail fall décor, but they don't do styled porch installs — they're a strong DIY source, not a done-for-you service.
Christmas Décor by Manor Works and The Belle Noel are the DMV's premier Christmas-only decorators — worth booking for December if you want the same "someone else handles it" experience for the holidays.
